mm/min. for thickness more than 3mm
V - 0
The burning of vertical test specimens, to be over within
10 sec. after the
application of the test flame.
Not have any specimens
that drip flaming particles.

GLOW
WIRE TEST
 |
This is a
preferred test standard for electrical applications.Simulate
the thermal stress that might be issued by a hot source.
Evaluate flammability hazards and extinction capabilities.
The glow wire, brought to a given temperature (550, 650,
750, 850, 960°C) is applied on the sample positioned
vertically by a 1 newton force for 30 sec. The measurement
is the time elapsed between the application of the wire
and the ignition of the sample and the control of the
dripping. |
The material passes the test
under the following conditions;
- Total absence of flame and
non continuous glowing
- In case of ignition, the
same must last less than 30 sec. after remowing the wire.
